Annual Report for 2009

Dear Friends:

This has been an exciting year for EOLS and I'm delighted to share our successes from 2008-09, and even more delighted to share with you our vision for 2009-10. This past year, we registered EOLS with the Canadian Revenue Agency and recieved our status as a Registered Charity. This means that we can issue tax receipts to our donors, in adiditon to a more legitimate system for you to follow our progress as a charity.

The vast majority of the fiscal year was spent preparing our organization to run the EOLS 2010 seminar in May of 2010. This included updating the website, preparing donor information, and complying with the directives from the CRA. Now, the fun part begins. Our 2010 fiscal year will be dedicated to the reinstatement of the EOLS Seminar, and we have a fair amount of legwork to do before we can.

Our first step is to secure funding to run the conference. We need support from our alumni, our community, and people that would like to learn more about us. You can support us by donating $10, sharing our message with your friends and family, or volunteering with us! This support will help us build the foundation for seminars in the years to come. I sincerely hope you will be able to join us in our quest to raise enough money to run the seminar. We will be keeping everyone informed of our success as we recieve donations.

After we have a good start on fundraising, a group of volunteers will be selected as staff for the 2010 conference. This will include a planning committee (responsible for the planning and execution of the weekend), as well as a committee that will attend the weekend as facilitators and support staff for our ambassadors. Preference will be given to our most active alumni first, followed by alumni, followed by volunteers from our community that would like to get involved.

I'm excited about the coming year for EOLS, and I hope that you are as well! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

As we say in EOLS, HUGS!
